This unusual grape rarely takes a turn on the front label, it is a key component in all the top Bordeaux reds, but De Bortoli are all for being different. Rich and brooding in colour the fruit shows lashings of blackcurrant fruit, with hints of violets, even the bottle looks different. £13.50

Filled to the brim with flavours of peaches and apricots with a dash of nutmeg this is a white with plenty of character and style.
